Damage to Seal Impressions Books
Zhang Xuejin, Chen Gang
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (5): 11-20.
Seal impressions books are special ancient books whose main content is seal image, seal side
inscription and so on. After investigating the preservation of 305 seal impressions books from Ming Dynasty
to the Republic of China Period, the paper identifies some damage specific to such books, such as ink oil
permeation, red ink paste contamination, paper aging accelerated by red ink paste, red ink paste discoloration,
black spot on red ink paste, red ink paste mildewed, separated and shedding seal image, mildewed binder
of seal image, and pigment discoloration caused by ink oil. Among these issues, ink oil permeation, red
ink paste contamination, paper aging accelerated by red ink paste, and red ink paste discoloration are
common, the proportion of which reached 49.51%, 22.95%, 20.66% and 16.07% respectively in the total
investigation. Ink oil permeation of is also found more serious among seal impressions books of Qing
Dynasty, whereas red ink paste accelerating paper ageing is obviously related to ink oil permeation. This
paper also analyzes the causes of the above-mentioned issues of seal impressions book combined with
historical, domestic and foreign scholars’ research.

the most remarkable feature of library space re-creation. Studying the change and development trend of
library space can provide theoretical basis and methodological guidance for the re-creation of library space
and promote the development of library to intelligent library. Through the analysis of the construction
and research status of the library’s space, the intelligent elements and functions of the library space are
summarized. The construction and service of library intelligent space must be guided by user demand and
led by the comprehensive application of new technology. It requires overall planning, rational layout, stepby-step
development. It will result in the full realization of library space’s value, energy and efficiency, and
empowerment of patrons through service innovation.

International Image Interoperability
Framework and Its Expanded API
Shan Rongrong, Chen Tao, Liu Wei, Xia Cuijuan
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (5): 89-95.
International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) is developed by a community of
GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) with the purpose to address the “imagesilo” issue. It
has also become the implementation standard for the management of image resources in cultural heritage
institutions. IIIF defines four application programming interfaces, which facilitate the integration, sharing
and interoperability of image resources in multiple sources and different formats. This paper adopts
literature review and case study as research methods, and introduces the framework of IIIF APIs, focusing
on the curatorial API and discovery API. Curatorial function, in particular, has changed the IIIF workflow.
Under the guidance of the existing technology and future development, IIIF is useful in building userdriven
image sharing platform, constructing the semantic image framework, sharing large-size images and
being the tools for digital humanities.

Exploring Information Literacy Education
System Based on the Whole Graduate Students’
Research Process
Yan Dan, Fan Yue
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (5): 96-103.
The current information literacy education often derails from the real academic research, and
the traditional library training mode can not accommodate the need of graduate students for information
literacy skills during the systematic scientific research. This paper aims to provide an overview of innovative
methods which might serve as models for future academic library information literacy education. It focuses
on how this education system was conceived, implemented, and has evolved based on new ideas including
thesis topic selection, literature review writing, research design, tool application, literature indexing, format
layout, paper review, submission and other stages of paper writing. Therefore, all aspects that involved in
information literacy are integrated and combed to form a complete information literacy education system,
which may be used by librarians and interested parties as a quick reference to information literacy education
reform. Finally, it also discusses the attempts and suggestions of using this model to carry out educational

Three Versions of Lianxizhi in the Wanli Period
and Their Inheritance Relationship
Su Pinxiao
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (5): 117-123.
Lianxizhi is a kind of personage monograph about the Song Confucianism, Zhou Dunyi, which
appeared in the Ming Dynasty, and so far no less than 10 kinds exist. This paper focuses on three versions
of Lianxizhi engraved during the Wanli period and currently scattered in domestic and foreign libraries, and
corrects some misconceptions that have been circulating for a long time. There are three main points in this
paper. First, the version of Lianxizhi in 10 volumes hold in the Shanghai Library signed “Li Zhen Ji” actually is
Xu Conghua and Xie Kuang’s collection in the 21st year of Wanli (1593) , which is the same as the version in
10 volumes hold in the National Library. They are both incomplete, but the complete version can be obtained
when put them together. Second, the version of Lianxizhi compiled by Lin Xuemin in the 37th year of Wanli
(1609) marked “nine volumes” and only collected in the Japanese Cabinet Library, in fact is a four-volume
adaptation of Xu Conghua’s collection. This version not only contained nearly 50 poems more than Xu’s
version, but also collected the portrait of Zhou Dunyi, therefore, it is acknowledged by many versions later
and widely spread. Third, the so-called the version of “nine volumes of Lianxizhi compiled by Li Zhen” has
been inherited by a variety of bibliographies and commentators for a long time since Siku Quanshu Zong Mu
was written. However, it was actually adapted from Lin Xuemin’s version, which was still four volumes in
scale and compiled by unknown editors in the late Wanli period. Among them, the Fujian Provincial Library’s
collection is the copy of Siku Quanshu Cun Mu Cong Shu and Xu Xiu Siku Quanshu. The collection is widely
distributed but has obvious wrong bookbinding, thus it is not a good version, while the copy hold in the Taipei
Palace Museum is relatively perfect with only a few wrong binding.

Textual Research on the Two-volume Pseudobook
of Baoqing Changguo County Chronicles
Guo Wenjun, Sun Feng.Guo Wenjun, Sun Feng
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (5): 124-131.
The Peking University Library has a two-volume handwritten edition of Baoqing Changguo
County Chronicles in the Qing Dynasty. This book has been little known for a long time and rarely
recorded. Some scholars believe that the second volume of Baoqing Changguo County Chronicles is the
blueprint of the volume 20 of Si Ming Zhi in the same period, and the latter is deleted on the basis of the
former. The article questioned this statement, and through a comparative analysis of the contents of the two
books, it was judged that Baoqing Changguo County Chronicles was not the blueprint of the volume 20 of
Si Ming Zhi in the same period, but was a pseudo-book based on the contents of Si Ming Zhi and other
books, compiled by later generations of the Southern Song Dynasty. However, this book is derived from
the manuscript of the Southern Song, and has a certain historical value in document collation and historical
analysis.
