Abstract: As an important aspect of information literacy, access to career information is crucial to the development of economy. Public libraries, being an open information resource center, are duty-bound to improve career information literacy of patrons. The survey shows that public libraries in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan have respectively formed a system in this regard, namely, public employment service in the USA, business and intellectual property service in the UK, and business support service in Japan. These innovative service measures highlight the trend of library undertaking from cultural service to literacy improvement and will provide guidance for the development of public libraries in China.
