corporate governance structure, the charter is thefundamental regulations for
public libraries to streamline internal and external relationships, and
establishdecision-making and management systems. Based on official website

libraries in five provinces of China. It analyzes theperformance and design of
corporate governance structure in the charters from four aspects:
organizationalgoals, operational structure, generation of chairperson of the
board of directors and library directors, andoperational norms. It identifies
the following questions in the design of corporate governance structure:the
organizational goal is incomplete; the separation of management and office
needs to be deepened; thesupervision mechanism needs to be further completed;
and the information communication and feedbacksystem needs to be strengthened.
It recommends optimizing from four aspects: deepening organizationalgoals,

Gao Fan, Cheng Mao, Pan Shurong, Jian Jie, Li Dan ( School of Public Administration, Southwest Jiaotong University, National Library of China)
Libraly Journal. 2024, 43 (397): 23-31.
The “dual” identity of the social director makes
it play a special role in the public libraryboard. In order to further explore
the current situation of social directors’ participation in the governanceof public libraries as legal persons, this paper
analyzes the proportion, generation mode and sourcestructure of social
directors of public libraries in Sichuan Province through the data of the
seventhevaluation of public libraries at or above the county level. The
research finds that there are still someproblems in the governance of public
libraries, such as “absence”, “dislocation”, single source, structureand
its own development needs are not adapted. It further puts forward four
improvement measuresnamely, improving the incentive system, giving full play to
the external forces of the council, optimizingthe council structure, and
adhering to the principle of adapting to local conditions.

Libraly Journal. 2024, 43 (397): 32-41.
The legal person governance structure
of public libraries assigns the decision-makingpower, execution power and
supervision power to different institutions, which is of great significancefor
the effective implementation of the autonomy of library legal persons and the
realization of librarygovernance. Based on the results of the Internet research
of 365 public libraries, this paper starts fromthe perspective of supervisory
boards/supervisors, and divides the corporate governance structure ofpublic
libraries into three types: binary-supervisory-absent,
binary-supervisory-embedded, and ternarysupervisoryboard-independent. It also
analyzes the checks and balances of power between the supervisorycommittee/supervisors
and the board of councils and management. The article proposes strategies foroptimizing
the corporate governance structure of public libraries in terms of clarifying
the duties ofsupervisors in the statutes, optimizing the way of identifying
supervisors, and supporting supervisors tocarry out regular evaluation work,
with a view to promoting the scientific and standardized developmentof the
corporate governance structure of public libraries.

Foreign Researchers’ Studies on Cognitive Biases in Users’Online Information Search: A Systematic Review
Han Zhengbiao, Zhang Wei, Qi Jinglin (School of Information Management, Nanjing Agricultural University)
Libraly Journal. 2024, 43 (397): 94-107.
This review aims to elucidate the
current status of foreign research on cognitive biasesin users’ online information search, in order to
provide researchers with a more comprehensiveunderstanding of this domain.
Adhering to the principles of systematic review, a total of 104 scholarlyarticles
sourced from eight academic databases were scrutinized, encompassing analyses
acrossfour dimensions: publication trends, theoretical frameworks, research
themes, and methodologies. Agradual increase has been observed in studies
addressing cognitive biases in users’ online
informationsearch in recent years, reflecting a growing scholarly interest in
this field. The foundational theoriesunderpinning these investigations
primarily originate from psychology and communication studies.Relevant research
predominantly focuses on four sub-themes pertaining to cognitive biases:
typology, causation, the influence of cognitive biases on information search,
and corrective strategies. Additionally, our observations of research trends
highlight the prevalence of experimental methodologies as the mostfrequently
employed method in current research endeavors.

Cai Mengling, Liao Xiaogang (School of Society, Soochow University)
Libraly Journal. 2024, 43 (397): 108-118.
Many current digitization projects of ancient books focus primarily on the informationcontained within the books, while neglecting the simultaneous digitization of their physical features.Digitally presenting the binding structure and physical features of ancient books can better realize thedigital display and dissemination of the culture of ancient books within the context of the national strategy.By integrating digital technology with the cultural aspects of bookbinding, as well as the preservation andrestoration of ancient books, this paper designs a visualization model of the album structure of ancientbooks, and expounds the sorting, annotation and visualization modules in this model. It further provesthe necessity and feasibility of applying digital technology to the protection and restoration of ancientbooks, and focuses on exploring the digital display and dissemination of the binding characteristics andculture of ancient books. The digitization project of ancient books should not only be the digitization ofancient book’ contents, but also be the digitization and visualization of their physical information, such asappearance, materials and Craftmanship of ancient books.
