Building An Intelligent Library: Opportunities, Challenges and Innovations
Wu Jianzhong
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 4-11.
Following the China Digital Library Project and the Digital Library Promotion Project, a new round of nationwide library digitalization projects was officially launched during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. The intelligent library is a systematic project involving policies, regulations, technology, services, and talents. This article focuses on three core issues affecting the development of smart libraries: omni media, platformization, and new industry trends. The author first suggests that the intelligent library should not become a replica of the digital library, but should blaze a trail of innovation. We should change the management thinking dominated by information storage, and release information through smart management and smart technology, so that information can generate value-added benefits, and serve economic, social and cultural development. Second, the construction of smart libraries cannot be rushed. There must be a clear and definite strategic plan and effective action plan. Third, the construction of an intelligent library must not only be regarded as a professional project, but must become a propeller for the digital transformation of the library. The library must follow the trend, not only to adhere to the historical mission of inheriting civilization and to preserve the heritage of human civilization, but also to develop these rich academic and cultural resources, so that the library becomes indispensable, accessible, shareable, as well as becoming creative knowledge infrastructure to the development of human society.

Centennial Changes of Reading Promotion Curriculum in China
Zhao Junling, Wang Chao, Zheng Yadan
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 12-21.
Using the historical analysis method, according to the characteristics of the development of reading promotion curriculum and teaching materials, this paper deeply analyzes the centennial changes of reading promotion curriculum from school education and continuing education. The development of reading promotion curriculum in China can be divided into four periods: starting period (1920-1949), rising period (1949-1966), fluctuation period (1977-1998) and recovery period (2014-present). The starting period pays attention to courses related to books; in the rising period, school education and continuing education flourish at the same time, service courses are becoming more and more abundant, and reader research related contents begin to appear; in the fluctuating period, the reading promotion education slowed down as a whole, and the reader research developed, but the contents related to books and services weakened; in the recovery period, with the development of the cultivation action of “reading promoters”, continuing education flourished, and the reading promotion courses in school education began to recover, but the overall scale was small. It is proposed that a reading promotion curriculum system should be established to cultivate knowlege of books, readers’ research ability and service ability.

Research and Practices on Library Donation System from the Perspective of Emotional Interaction
Wen Peidan, Liao Wei (Chongqing University Library)
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 28-33.
Receiving donations is an important source of library collections. Tapping potential donors and encouraging them to continue donating is an important part of the library’s work. The study of donation system from the perspective of emotional interaction is of great significance to guide the development of library donation and improve the “stickiness” of donation. In this paper, through the subjective and objective questionnaires, the influence of emotional interaction on the donation motivation was investigated of 35 donors, and so were related opinions collected. It shows that donors generally value the interaction during donating, and “donation feedback” is the core element of emotional interaction with donors, followed by “donation dynamics” and “individual donation reports”. After studying the results of the questionnaires, this paper designs the library donation system with emotional interaction as the core, and puts forward the ideas of personal homepages, rich donation updates and multi-dimensional information push. Taking the library of Chongqing University as an example for verification, it shows that donors think highly of the strengthened emotional interaction, which lays a good emotional foundation for further donation.

Comparison of Downloads and Citations of Foreign Journal Database
Xiang Linfang (Library of South China University of Technology)
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 34-41.
The number of full-text paper downloads is the most commonly used index of database performance evaluation, but can this index accurately and effectively evaluate the performance of database use? The number of citations in the database was obtained by using the Web of Science platform, and the correlation between full-text downloads and citations was analyzed by Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient to verify the effectiveness and accuracy of the full-text downloads index in evaluating the performance of the database use, and to provide reference for the performance evaluation of the foreign journal database use. It is shown that the correlation between full-text downloads and citations is strong. The index of full-text downloads is objective and effective to evaluate the performance of the database use. The accuracy of the evaluation results can be improved by using the data of downloads for consecutive years. The accuracy of the evaluation results is higher when both the download number and the citation index are used to evaluate the performance of the database use.

Selection of Title Information of Wood-block New Year Pictures and Description of Machine Readable Format
Guo Shuhui (Library of Central Academy of Fine Arts)
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 42-51.
Based on user inquiry and the convenience of resource management, some libraries used CNMARC as the basic template to record the data information of New Year wood-block painting in a
machine-readable format. As the title information of New Year wood-block painting is relatively complicated, cataloging personnel often need to combine the content and structure of the paintings, the format, size, order, meaning, usage and other elements of the text information to determine the title information of the New Year pictures. They also need to clarify the hierarchical relationship between the titles, according to the description rules, to reflect the complex title information in the specific fields and to provide users with multi-faceted title retrieval. This article sorts out and introduces the selection and description of the title information of various types of New Year wood-block painting, highlights the practical significance, and hopes to provide reference for relevant colleagues and to discuss together.

Research on the Characteristics of Invention Patent Transfer in Double First-class Engineering Universities
Shen Jinhua, Li Yiqian, Zhang Gengping, Chen Jing( Tongji University Library, School of Economics and Management, Tongji University)
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 91-99.
This study aims to discover the rule of technology transfer in engineering colleges and universities, in the hope of providing support for patent management and operation and improving the transformation rate of technological achievements in Chinese universities. This study takes the invention patents of double first-class engineering universities as the research object, and obtains application data of 51 double-class engineering universities from 1999 to 2018 via Innojoy Patent Search Database. It studies the status of transferred invention patents, the characteristics of patent time, the cooperation patterns and the technology flow path. Compared with the transfer rate of 3.2%, the growth rate of application is 31.3% from 1999 to 2018. It is necessary to pay more attention on patent transfer to achieve economic value of intangible assets. Nearly 90% of the patents are transferred for the first time within 7 years after application, and the overall maintenance period is skewed normal distribution and has a right long tail. Among the transferred patents, cooperative patent applications account for only 12.14%, and university-enterprise cooperation is the core cooperative application mode. The technology of these 51 universities contributes to the national economic development with enterprises as major patent assignees.

A Research on the Edition of the Hand-copied Book of the Santitangshi In Japan
Han Ning (School of Literature, Capital Normal University) Xu Wenwu (School of Chinese Culture and Communication, Beijing International Studies University)
Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (12): 126-132.
Santitangshi of Pei Yu has long been lost in China, and it is now only collected in Japan. There is very little information about Pei Yu’s life. From his interaction with the Chen family, we can roughly infer the time of his life. This collection in Japan is closely related to another edition with added annotations. To put it simply, the latter one, with various deletions from the original one, is a fake entrusted to Pei Yu’s book, so it is more abridged and suitable for readers. The value of Pei Yu’s annotations lies in the documentary supplements and correctness, and its approximate loss time can be sorted out by referring to Pei Yu’s annotations. Moreover, Pei Yu’s annotations also have high literary value.
