Digital Reading Behavior & Habit Can Affect“Reading Brain”and Cognitive Model of Reading
    Yuan Xilin
    LIBRARY JOURNAL. 2016, 35 (4): 18-26.
    摘要 ( 1678 )   PDF(CN)(4069KB) ( 1883 )

Reading is an information processing and feedback activity about language and text. The reading brain refers to “the brain in the reading”. With the changes in reading behavior and habit during digital reading, the neural structure of the brain will be also adjusted and remodeled, generating new neural connections, forming
new neural circuits to fit the change of network digital reading behavior. And network retrieval, screen reading and fast browsing behavior in the process of digital reading may cause some changes in reading processing mode, such as fragmentation information processing and nonlinear collaborative thinking. And the great impacts on cognition, could be summarized in three main aspects: (1) increasing cognitive load; (2) reducing reader’s cognitive costs, and developing new reading model similar to the “memory outsourcing to internet” mode; (3)putting forward higher requirements for the reader’s meta-reading ability. Further, the “reading brain” is also changing, and role of reader is also changed from a knowledge cultivator to a hunter of information. So how to promote the reader’s meta-reading ability is a key concern in the research area of internet digital reading. It has profound impact on reading comprehension performance in network environment.

Ancient classical works are the most important carrier recording the history of a nation.Reading Chinese classic books is the most direct and effective way to learn traditional culture. But for contemporary Chinese, there are two big barriers, namely, ancient Chinese language and ancient Chinese culture background knowledge. So the design and exploration of the digital reading guidance of Chinese ancient classical books are necessary to help ordinary readers. Based on the  uestionnaires of reading needs and reading behaviors, Analects of Confucius is selected as sample text, and we deconstruct it from three dimensions:characters, literary quotation, “ritual” pattern and naming system, and we then interlink them to the original text by hyperlink, producing the digital reading guidance system of Chinese ancient classical books.

Research on Fu Qingzhu’s Annotation on Poetry of Du Fu
    Xiong Yan’an
    LIBRARY JOURNAL. 2016, 35 (4): 97-102.
    摘要 ( 1346 )   PDF(CN)(1987KB) ( 814 )

In this study, we showed the authenticity of Weng Tonghe’s inscriptions on Fu Shan’s Annotation on Poetry of Du Fu, stored in Shanghai Library. Based on this, we proposed that Weng Tonghe’s assertion, the annotation is authored by Fu Shan, should not be easily denied. Then we showed that Books on Poetry of Du Fu’s questioning does not have sufficient evidences. We also disconfirmed the opinion from Descriptive Catalog of Poetry of Du Fu, “Wuzi” in Weng Tonghe’s inscription should be “Wuxu”. In addition, we showed that Fu Shan’s questioning on the authenticity of “Outi” and other two poems in Poetry of Du Fu assisted on discrimination of Du’s poems. And from Fu Shan’s criticism on the art of Du’s poems and the Du Fu’s disposition, we exposed Fu Shan’s introspection on the trend of admiring Du Fu from the Song Dynasty and Fu Shan’s adherents’ psychology denying Qing government’s legitimacy. In the end, we showed that Fu Shan’s evaluation of poems is focused on “flavor”, which is the harbinger of Theory of Verve and Theory of Disposition prevailing in the Qing Dynasty, important in the history of poetics.

After carefully comparison, we found that National Library’s manuscript is the first draft manuscript and the Shanghai Library’s manuscript is the final version. The content of National Library’s manuscript is complete but too simple while Shanghai Library’s manuscript is rich but almost lost Jibu. If put these two books together, we can know the original appearance of the book. Compared with other similar works, although it was a later one, it has detailed information, perfect system, exquisite textual research and the greatest achievement.
