Supplying general, equal, convenient and humanized service to achieve equalization, socialization, informatization and standardization of public library service is the key task for the libraries nowadays. Committed to this task and based on the latest library developments, Wenzhou library creates a new library service model named “City Study”, with characteristics of low costs, easily to be cloned, effectiveness and innovation, which reduces people’s reading difficulties. This paper introduces the background, content and characteristics of “City Study” model, and proposes construction principles, aiming to set up a new characteristic library service model for all the public libraries. “Shaoxing television library mode” is among the second national public cultural service system demonstration projects. This article expounds the characteristics and significance of the mode in Shaoxing libraries, as well as the service work of the modern library.

With the support of cloud computing technology, the age of big data is full of opportunities and challenges. In order to fully understand the big data environment, we use visual analysis tools Bibexecl and CiteSpaceIII to conduct visual analysis of knowledge map on big data research in the past decade. Based on background knowledge of big data, we demonstrate the distribution and knowledge base of literature, and identify the international dynamic, academic frontiers and development path of big data. In the end, we put forward conclusions and recommendations. The age of big data requires collaboration of interdisciplinary and cross-regional forces. Meanwhile, the issue of privacy should arouse due concern. Big data promotes education reforms and the establishment of data sharing alliance.

Resource Description and Access (RDA) is a new standard for description and access designed for the international context, which will replace the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules. RDA designates a number of guidelines and instructions as alternatives, options and exceptions for agencies to make decisions in local policy statements. As one of the first national libraries committed to the implementation of RDA, the Library of Congress (LC) decided to “adopt RDA with certain conditions” based on the RDA test. LC made local decisions in LC-PCC PS, which is practical for localization of RDA. By studying the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of LC-PCC PS, we could guide our cataloguing practices and make local policies.

ShareAlike (SA) is one of the four elements of creative commons licenses. Now there are two SA licenses: BY-SA and BY-NC-SA. SA applies to derivative work. SA and Copyleft are similar, but not identical. SA licenses are strong licenses and absorb other licenses when remixing with other works. Wikipedia is BY-SA’s most famous users. Many open educational resources adopt BY-NC-SA.

The current “internet plus” environment engenders many new topics for the management and usage of library journal. The current opinions, from the simple choice between paper version and electronic version, and the integration of printing and usage of journals, to the circulation service and centralized storage, are all biased to some extent. We should proceed from the reality and search for reasonable development solutions.

This paper introduces the practice of embedded media monitoring service in Shanghai Changning District Library and discusses the factors and assisting system of the service model, as well as working methods and rules, providing reference and suggestions for starting the embedded services in public libraries.

Taking the subject retrieval of SciFinder Web as example, the information and knowledge involved were explored in depth in this paper. The characteristics and the corresponding retrieving database of CAplus and Medline were also briefly introduced. Based on the comparison of the indexing modes of both retrieving database, the subject retrieval methods and skills of SciFinder Web were summarized and presented. With respect to the three different following references post-processing functions, the characteristics, usage and difference among the functions were discovered. This can be used as reference for enhancing retrieval quality and efficiency.

The traditional MARC bibliographic format enormously hinders library bibliographic data from becoming network information resources. The problem which library must solve is how to attract users from network application services back to library system. After reviewing the history and background of the open access of bibliographic resources on the web, the paper advocates SchemaBibEx, which is the bibliographic resource description extension of Schema. org, as the powerful tool for library to solve this problem. By analyzing the linked data model, vocabularies, tools and services, the paper explains its originality, openness, global unity, and economicality. It also discusses its complementary relationship with BIBFRAME which is the next generation of bibliographic frame format. SchemaBibEx isn’t the replacement of MARC, but will become a two-way communication bridge between library bibliographic data and information user network.

The threshold concepts approach is a new pedagogical theory being used by ACRL to construct the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. This paper presents an brief introduction to its definition, criteria and application in libraries, discusses the impact, explores the 6 threshold concepts,correlate abilities and depositions presented in the new framework, so as to provide a new perspective forinformation literacy improvement in Chinese universities.

The advent of digital books has brought profound changes to publishing industry in the world.Public libraries are experiencing difficulties and challenges in providing e-book services for readers,whereas ebook downloads have led to a variety of technical and legal problems. Focusing on the US market, this paper analyzes the innovative solutions in building a new e-book platform and business model through a series of attempts and exploration by Douglas County Library, who has been facing the conflict between the growing demands of readers and the frequent restrictions from vendors. These practices will provide reference for the development of e-lending service of Chinese public libraries.

By the methods of bibliometric, this paper made statistics and analysis of the articles cited the Chinese translation version of On the Philosophy of Higher Education by John S. Brubacher, and discusses the distribution of their academic influence of year, source, author, and their institution. And this paper also made statistics and analysis of the high frequency keywords and their co-occurrence of these citing articles to find the academic influence of hot spots and focus of On the Philosophy of Higher Education. Finally, this paper uses content analysis, sorts out the main content of the research and evaluation view of On the Philosophy of Higher Education in China.

About Weng Fanggang’s life, he himself wrote WENGSHI JIASHILUEJI. Shen Jin wrote WENGFANGGANGNIANPU with more than 40 years, which is good for researching Weng Fanggang.And then, Chen Hongsen wrote WENGFANGGANGNIANPUBUZHENG, Wu Mingneng wrote SHENJINZ HUWENGWENGFANGGANGNIANPUJIJIWENGFANGGANGTIBASHOUZHAJILUBUYI, the two papers intended to make an addendum to Shen Jin’s WENGFANGGANGNIANPU, which also contribute to researching Weng Fanggang. But Weng Fanggang had a long life, also had a lot of work, the three scholars’ work is still not fully. Thus, in this paper, the author made a furthur addendum to Shen Jin’s WENGFANGGANGNIANPU.

Although Li Zhi of Song Shi ever checked by Chinese press in 1977 is the most authoritative and systematic article which is especial about the rituals of the Song Dynasty in ancient books. According to SONGHUIYAOJIGAO, WENXIANTONGKAO and other important ancient documents, we research it and find still there are year, month, day and other mistakes. The reasons causing these mistakes are probably because of identical characters, following former historical books, missing and so on.

There are three levels of understanding of the connotation of the earliest music album of modern China: one is that the earliest music album which contains the related-China contents, one refers to the earliest music album which was related to China and cut in China, the latest understanding refers to the first music album which was related to China, cut by the famous Chinese artists and released in China. Because of the different recognized standards, the definition of the earliest music album of modern China is different. In this paper, the author sorted and selected the definitions of the earliest music album of modern China one by one , using the relevant data for reference and discrimination, in order to provide a reference source for the clearance in Chinese academic history of old recordings.

There is a big difference between our country and the West in terms of the children’s reading level research. Apart from the short research history, the complexity of the Chinese language, too subjective research method and the lack of diversity in research staff all attribute to the bottleneck of research on children’s reading level. We need to bear in mind the characteristics of Chinese language, enhance the localization of reading level research, learn from the Western experience of objective and quantitative studies, draw more attention from the government, and attract talents from all walks of life, in the hope of advancing scientific research on children’s reading levels.
