On the Etymology of “Tú Shū Gu n”
    Zhang Yinlong, Zhao Xiaodan,Shi Weiwei
    LIBRARY JOURNAL. 2017, 36 (4): 32-34.
    摘要 ( 2440 )   PDF(CN)(2202KB) ( 1160 )

Most of the library scientists and linguistics regard that the Chinese word “tú shū guǎn (library)” was borrowed from the Japanese word during the modernization period of the late Qing Dynasty.“Tú shū guǎn” first appeared in China in an article by Japanese ZhenJi on Shiwu Newspaper in 1896.
However, our discovery indicates its mistake. We found the Chinese word “tú shū guǎn” appeared in Huang Tingjian’s poetry in the Song Dynasty, as well as in Li Jian’s poetry during Emperor Qian Long’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. These two examples effectively falsify the previous assumption.

The Study on the Impact of Weighted Factors on Co-Authorship Network
    Ren Ni, Zhou Jiannong
    LIBRARY JOURNAL. 2017, 36 (4): 71-79.
    摘要 ( 1119 )   PDF(CN)(3631KB) ( 1031 )

The study on co-authorship network has always been an important research direction in the field of information science. Adopting the social network analysis (SNA) research methods, the authors build three computing models of co-authorship network respectively according to three weighted elements
such as networking intensity, individual author’s contribution, and co-authorship influence. They then compare and analyze the network graph, centrality analysis, subgroup analysis and core-periphery analysis through an empirical research. The study finds out that the weighted factors have an impact on the point centrality, core-periphery structure, and the connection strength of network graph, but do not affect the betweenness centrality, the closeness centrality, the cohesive subgroups, or the structure of network graph.

Gardens in Relationship Novel: A Reader Response Approach
    Qiu Zhaoyuan
    LIBRARY JOURNAL. 2017, 36 (4): 102-106.
    摘要 ( 1217 )   PDF(CN)(1965KB) ( 977 )

The relationship novels, flourishing in the middle of Ming dynasty, have a distinctive element in common: private garden as space for interactions among figures, which thus produces unique aesthetic charm and artistic effect, and gradually evolves into a kind of narrative expression. Garden and novel are
two types of art: space and time, whereas the merger of two forms a more primitive but aesthetic contrast: the “reality” of relationship vs. the “fantasy” of garden, the “mundanity” of relationship vs. the “elegance”of garden, and the “ethics” of relationship vs. the “lust” of garden.
