On the Promotion of Local Chronicles by Modern Library
    Chen Zhengyun
    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 18-23.
    摘要 ( 343 )   PDF(CN)(2053KB) ( 272 )
In the transition from traditional library to modern library, local libraries open their collections to the outside world, which greatly facilitates the study of local chronicles scholars and expands the reading scope of local chronicles. The periodicals set up by the library provide a platform for academic discussion on the development of local chronicles and accelerate the dissemination of local chronicles. Local libraries provided and compiled various local chronicles for the development of modern local chronicles, which provided necessary auxiliary tools for academic research and promoted the development of local chronicles bibliography. With the publication of all kinds of library periodicals and the compilation of all kinds of local chronicles, a series of local chronicles catalogs and reviews of local Chronicles works were produced, which indirectly expanded the space of local chronicles critics.

Research on the Copyright Law Protection Mode of Collation of Ancient Chinese Prose
    Gan Jingyuan, Zhang Huaiyin
    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 24-31.
    摘要 ( 467 )   PDF(CN)(2122KB) ( 287 )
Intellectual efforts must have the “orginality” as defitied by copyright law in order to become a protected piece of work. This article conducts research on the “copyrightability” of the Collation of ancient chinese prose to explore a reasonable protection mode of such works. Based on the analysis of copyright law, this article identifies Collation of ancient chinese prose as an independent intellectual effort, but its results do not satisfy the “creativity” component as required by copyright law. In addition, out of the public policy considerations of balancing interests and promoting information freedom and cultural prosperity, the results of the Collation of ancient chinese prose should be excluded from the scope of protection by the copyright law because of them mixing expression of facts with the restoration of facts. Collation of Ancient Chinese Prose is auxiliary labor, and the result is a non-creative labor product based on auxiliary work. The publishing organization invests a lot of manpower, material resources, financial resources and other costs in organizing the Collation of ancient chinese prose, so the results of the Collation of ancient chinese prose and its investors may consider protection through neighboring right.

Research on the Development Mode of Faculty’s and Students’ Paper Collections
Liu Jing, Hou Weizhen, Zhang Ru
    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 38-44.
    摘要 ( 372 )   PDF(CN)(2236KB) ( 312 )
Under the background of building “double first-class” colleges and universities, the environment to develop faculty collections have undergone important changes, and new requirements and challenges have been put forward to promote academic achievements of the university. By way of literature review and descriptive research, this paper categorizes the existing practices and describes the basic pattern. It first defines the core concepts, summarizes the research status, and analyzes the existing problems. Then, three major practices are described: “collections only” model, “collections + exhibitions” model, and “collections = exhibitions” model. Finally, based on the analysis of basic problems of such collections, a basic development mode of university faculty’s and students’ paper collections is proposed, which will fulfill the needs of “collection, use, exhibition and research”.

    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 45-52.
    摘要 ( 374 )   PDF(CN)(2179KB) ( 290 )
Sci-tech novelty retrieval is an important approach to evaluate scientific and technological innovation activities, but the quality of novelty retrieval report is greatly affected by the subjective factors of novelty searchers, and the sci-tech novelty retrieval work also needs to be transformed. This paper proposed that the LDA topic model based on big data can effectively improve the authority of sci-tech novelty searching, and provide strategic reference for the development of sci-tech novelty retrieval. This paper introduced the theoretical basis and application of LDA topic model, formed a sci-tech novelty search method based on LDA topic model, discussed the specific application of this method in different aspects of novelty search, and analyzed the effect of this method through practical cases. The introduction of LDA subject model method in the sci-tech novelty retrieval can effectively help the novelty searchers to understand the novelty retrieval points, assist the auditor to rapidly review reports and inspire the clients to evaluate scientific research from multiple perspectives. It not only improves the readability and objectivity of the novelty search report, but also explores the in-depth intelligence service capability of the novelty search station, laying a solid foundation for the transformation of the sci-tech novelty retrieval.

Empirical Evaluation on the Supply of Library’s Data Literacy Services in Chinese Universities
    Lu Zudan
    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 63-70.
    摘要 ( 384 )   PDF(CN)(2966KB) ( 288 )
Through evaluating the current supply of library’s data literacy services (DLS) in the Chinese universities, this study tries to bring some valuable references for more effective work in the future. Based on a cross-section data of ‘double first-class’ Chinese universities in 2018, this work makes an empirical evaluation of the supply of library’s DLS from the perspective of service approaches, and then analyzes the differences using a radar diagram. The sample shows a positive skewed distribution whereas the overall supply of library’s DLS is still at a low level. There are significant gradient differences in DLS supply among the ‘double first-class’ universities. While the ‘985-Universities’ have obvious advantages in DLS, the non- 211 ‘double first-class’ universities are relatively weak. The results also suggest that, besides strengthening the development of digital resources, the libraries of Chinese universities should take full advantage of flexible services with lower costs, such as lectures/training, activities/competitions, and online training.

    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 78-81.
    摘要 ( 391 )   PDF(CN)(2099KB) ( 313 )
KU-ORCAS (the Asian Open Research Center of Kansai University), which was selected in 2017 as the brand enterprise of Japanese private research university, mainly promotes the digital humanities project based on the long-term digital preservation of East Asian cultural research materials in the library of Kansai University. In addition to the work of “opening research resources” for long-term digital preservation based on IIIF, the project also carries out “open research” for the purpose of sharing relevant research and flexible methods of digital long-term preservation and digital humanities. In addition, it will cooperate with the website “honkoku.org” to realize the “openness of research team” through crowdsourcing. The research results of KU-ORCAS will also be made public as open access data to realize the “open access of research results”. The project will promote “openness” through these four tasks. In this report, we will not only discuss the part related to university library, but also discuss the digital humanities research and the countermeasures of open data research which are difficult to achieve through sole reliance on university library.

.Qian Aijuan, Dong Xiaoju, Shen Qiwen, LiChenlu, Shi Xiaohua
    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 82-88.
    摘要 ( 561 )   PDF(CN)(2253KB) ( 1368 )
While providing services to users, university libraries generate a large amount of service data, including information on book borrowing, book reservation, and user access. Information of such can help managers analyze the behavior of users to further improve the quality of library services. This paper mainly studies the behavioral characteristics of group users and individual users, performs appropriate data analysis procedures and designs a reasonable visualization method for different dimensions, such as borrowing preferences and the site visit rules of different groups of users and individual users. For group users, static data analysis is mainly used, and for individual users, an interactive system is used for analysis. Finally, this paper applies the research method to real library data to prove its feasibility and effectiveness.

Book Co-borrowing Network Based on Social Network Analysis: A Case Study of Fudan University Library
    Zou Dingjie, Bao Dongmei
    Libraly Journal. 2020, 39 (10): 89-95.
    摘要 ( 453 )   PDF(CN)(2389KB) ( 338 )
It is helpful for libraries to optimize resource allocation and improve the service quality by exploring readers’ behavior. This paper uses 2013—2017 book lending dataset of Fudan University and builds the book Co-borrowing network. Then readers’ borrowing demand is explored by centrality analysis and the formation mechanism of reading community is analyzed from the perspective of agglomerating subgroups. It is found that the demand of readers for books does not follow the law of 2—8, but the long tail theory, making “diversity of books” a principle in books acquisition. The formation of reading community has an effect of time and space accumulation, so online readers clubs may be better than offline ones.

In fact, there are still a lot of poems scattered in the newspapers and periodicals in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, but almost no one cares. By extensive search and careful collation, we discovered forty-one missing poems of Yu Youren, absent in all collections of his poetry. These poems are sorted in chronological order of creation, with brief notes, explaining the source and writing time, etc.
