The Digital Humanities and a Cyberinfrastructure for China Studies
    Peter K. Bol
    Libraly Journal. 2018, 37 (11): 18-25.
    摘要 ( 499 )   PDF(CN)(10223KB) ( 49 )
Harvard University Chinese History Professor Peter K. Bol’s keynote report at the 9th Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF2018) discussed “Network Infrastructure” as a bridge to connect many independent databases in Chinese research has a vital meaning for the development of digital humanities. He believes that digital humanities is not only a tool, but a method and technical system that causes paradigm and theoretical change in the process of knowledge advancement. Taking the Chinese historical biographies database (CBDB) as an example, he explained the essential difference between the “relational database” and the commonly used text database in a simple way, and explained how the geographic information system (GIS), social network analysis, text analysis tools and platforms help to promote knowledge advances and lead to paradigm shifts and the birth of new theories. Finally, it is proposed to combine the research libraries to build the vision of the “Global Smart Data Platform”.

    摘要 ( 225 )   PDF(CN)(2151KB) ( 6 )
In big data environment, the number of digital resources has increased, and the granularity of resource organization is more refined. Peoples’ demand for data mining and knowledge service become more urgent. This paper analyzes several literature metadata standards used by different publishers and information service institutions, especially NSTL unified literature metadata standard. Then, we find that metadata design presents unitarity, modularity, fineness, identities and relevance trends and features.

Research on the Effect of WeChat Reading Promotion by Art College Library Based on WCI
    Jiang Ling
    Libraly Journal. 2018, 37 (11): 47-55.
    摘要 ( 359 )   PDF(CN)(1875KB) ( 5 )
In this paper, the status of reading promotion through the use of WeChat in the current libraries of art colleges was investigated, a quantitative analysis of the effect of WeChat reading promotion was made, and the strategy for WeChat reading promotion in the libraries of art colleges was put forward, so as to provide ideas and suggestions for the development of reading promotion in the libraries of art colleges. The WeChat public platform was selected as the data source for the research, whereas the independently established public undergraduate art college library was selected as the object of investigation. The reading promotion information was manually screened and classified into 14 categories. The effect of WeChat reading promotion of the sample library was weighted and quantified by using the latest version of WCI (V13.0), the current status and actual effect of WeChat reading promotion in the libraries of art colleges were analyzed, the factors that influence the effect of reading promotion were discussed, and the strategy for the WeChat reading promotion and development in the art colleges libraries was put forward. The libraries of art colleges should deal with the relationship between traditional reading promotional activities and the characteristic reading promotional activities of the art colleges, making use of the algorithm to select topic and optimize content, and attaching importance to the push’s readability, interestingness and interactivity, etc.

Function and Application of E-book Lightweight Content Protection
    Yan Lingyan, Wang Yiming
    Libraly Journal. 2018, 37 (11): 70-75.
    摘要 ( 332 )   PDF(CN)(3659KB) ( 5 )
With the iteratively updating of global e-book standards, the shortcomings of the traditional DRM technology are continuously revealed. A new digital copyright protection technology based on EPUB 3.0, “Lightweight Content Protection, LCP”, was first released and applied in Europe. It uses license technology to protect the content in the two layers, providing an e-lending mode of lower cost for the library, while protecting the privacy of users and optimizing their reading experience. It is expected to solve the copyright problems between e-book publishers, platform operators and libraries. This article cites the foreign data in order to provide reference for domestic e-book copyright protection and libraries’ e-lending service.

Preliminary Research on the Knowledge Discovery in Chemistry Based on the Word Embedding
Wang Xin, Ji Jiuming, Li Nan, Sun Jiqing
    Libraly Journal. 2018, 37 (11): 90-98.
    摘要 ( 303 )   PDF(CN)(2475KB) ( 9 )
In the text data, knowledge representation is abstract, unstructured, and latent. It is difficult to find knowledge by co-occurrence, rule or association. Based on Word2Vec, this paper proposes to utilize the WP-Word2Vec model with word attribute, and designs knowledge discovery model based on word vector. Experiments show that the WP-Word2Vec model can integrate word class information into the training word vector, and the similarity in the similar word discovery is improved.

Clustering of Textual Subject Words Based on Co-word Analysis
    Ruan Guangce, Xia Lei
    Libraly Journal. 2018, 37 (11): 99-104.
    摘要 ( 370 )   PDF(CN)(3588KB) ( 44 )
In this paper, co-word analysis is applied to the text file to explore the semantic relevance of the text topic. Since text file is different from the science literature, andlacks keywords, the author uses the topic model to reduce the dimensionality of the text, and uses the topic words generated by LDA as the research object of co-word analysis. The experiment results show that the medium frequency words can better reflect the theme of the text. Therefore, the author uses Zipf’s law and the same frequency theory to select medium frequency words as the topic words set, calculates the semantic association strength with co-word analysis, and clusters the topic words using K-means clustering algorithm. The author then makes an experiment with the news text relevant to “innovation and entrepreneurship”, and concludes that this method can reflect the semantic relevance of the theme of the text better.
