The Contemporary Value of “Four Treasures” Study

This paper discusses the three important periods of the development of the “four treasury” systems, the three important characteristics, and the future development direction of the “four treasures”, the significance of the study of “four treasures” and the application of the world Memory Heritage List.

Construction of Personalized Service Model from the Perspective of Digital Resource Aggregation Error Control

Digital resource aggregation is a complex process, which involves many factors. During each link for various reasons, there will be some errors, these errors are accumulated and presented in the final results of the aggregate. The error accumulated to a certain extent will have a certain impact on the personalized service. Therefore, using the literature research method, deductive induction method and error theory of digital resources aggregation concept error, error source and error types and error on the polymerization results mechanism analysis, put forward the “purpose, process, method, results” as a roadmap for the path of personalized service and meshing of factors on the personalized service were studied. The results show that the aggregation error of digital resources can affect the personalized service, and only the accumulation error of the control resource aggregation can be better to provide personalized service for the users.

“Meaningful” Is not so Good as “Interesting”: the Marketing Strategy of University Library

The methods and means of marketing must be innovated in the library in order to meet the competitions and challenges derived from external and their own development’s needs. This study discusses three different marketing cases in domestic university libraries and concludes: the “meaningful” marketing is not so good as the “interesting” marketing, and the marketing of university library needs to be “a bit interesting”. Four suggestions are put forward on how university library marketing could change from “meaningful” to “interesting”.

Preface to the Facsimile Edition of the Manuscript of Hanfenlou Jinyu Shulu (A Catalogue of the Remaining Books of the Hanfenlou Collection)

Hanfenlou jinyu shulu (A Catalogue of the Remaining Books of the Hanfenlou Collection) is a distinctive descriptive bibliography in the tradition of the “bibliophile’s bibliography”, which occupies a permanent place in the history of Chinese bibliographic studies. Previous studies and references of the Catalogue were mainly based on the print edition published by the Commercial Press in 1951, however, its manuscript, preserved in Shanghai Library, still has substantial bibliographic values. On the occasion of the publication of the facsimile edition of the manuscript, the author, in this preface, stated his views on the Catalogue and its different versions, aiming for the preservation and development of the bibliographic studies.

A Textual Research on the Versions of Yü yen tzu êrh chi

Yü yen tzu êrh chi, a progressive course designed to assist students of colloquial Chinese as spoken in the capital and the metropolitan department, is one of the world’s most influential textbooks on Peking Mandarin. It has been officially published three times. This paper first describes the historical context of these textbooks, provides general information of each version, and discusses the current research on the textbooks and the need for further exploration. It then compares and clarifies the volumes, publishing process, printing, binding forms, contents and the names of each of the volumes of the three versions of the textbooks, and raises questions about these versions which require further research, including the “variant versions”, such as transcriptions, sectional copies, truncated versions, reprinted copies, adapted versions, as well as other books modeled on the textbooks’ style.
