Abstract: Hanfenlou jinyu shulu (A Catalogue of the Remaining Books of the Hanfenlou Collection) is a distinctive descriptive bibliography in the tradition of the “bibliophile’s bibliography”, which occupies a permanent place in the history of Chinese bibliographic studies. Previous studies and references of the Catalogue were mainly based on the print edition published by the Commercial Press in 1951, however, its manuscript, preserved in Shanghai Library, still has substantial bibliographic values. On the occasion of the publication of the facsimile edition of the manuscript, the author, in this preface, stated his views on the Catalogue and its different versions, aiming for the preservation and development of the bibliographic studies.
