    From Quantitative to Qualitative Development: The New Topics of the Research Libraries

    Research Libraries are the symbol of the power of knowledge of a country or area. The success of transformation of the research libraries can be of great benefit to the librarianship on the whole and also of a great push to the development of economy, society, culture and education. The article gives a general view of the hot topics of the research libraries concerning the strategic planning, collection development, acquisitions of foreign materials, reading list system, active learning commons, transformation of subject services, position of technical staff, research data management, digital humanity and organizational restructure, and puts forward some ideas and suggestion in combination of the national reality.

    The Analysis on the Applicability of Service Dominant Logic in Enterprise-oriented Information Service

    Service dominant logic is attracting ever-increasing attention in service related research. While the potential implication for enterprise-oriented information service innovation is promising, the theoretical problem of its applicability is yet to be carefully examined. This paper aims to answer this question. After a brief review, the paper discusses service dominant logic’s applicability through theoretical deduction and dynamic case study.

    Application of WeChat to Library Information Service: East China Normal University Library as an Example

    WeChat is very popular among readers now. In order to guide the library providing better library information service, the paper introduces management and operation modes of WeChat base on East China Normal University Library’s practices, as well as details regarding how to develop custom menu, auto-reply, freshman season activities, FAQ Smart Answers and mobile App. The paper also researches subscription, interaction and reading behaviors of readers and factors influecing WeChat marketing, providing a useful reference for library information services using WeChat.

    Baidu Connect: New Mode of Mobile Service in University Library

    Baidu Connect is a new concept to subvert the traditional mobile service model. It provides a new idea for the innovation of the mobile service in the university library. This paper discusses the necessity of opening the Baidu Connect in the university library, and surveys the current status of the operation in East China Normal University Library and Anhui Agricultural University Library. It compares Baidu Connect with the previous mobile service mode of university library, and proposes solutions to problems in operations, such as enhancing the user experience, striving for more show channels, improving the functional architecture, expanding the service type, integrating digital resources, realizing mobile reading, and nurturing using habits to increase user stickiness.

    With the concept of “Internet+” being put forward, every walk of life faces both opportunities and challenges. It’s a universal concern how to face the challenge, grasp the opportunity and change the traditional service models of libraries. By understanding the concept of “Internet+” and analyzing library service innovation efforts, this paper differentiates and analyzes two patterns, “library + Internet” and “Internet + library”, and discusses new models for innovation: “Internet + x + library” and “library+”.

    The Establishment of the Evaluation System for Repair Paper Performance

    The performance of the repair paper has a significant impact on the results of repair. Based on the principles of repair, we should establish the evaluation system of the repair paper in order to achieve the standards of “safety”, “appearance”, “function” and “permanence”. The system should measure pH values, tensile strength, folding endurance, durability, bulk density, and dimensional stability of the paper, so as to standardize the production and use of repair paper in future.

    It is a task worthy of note by library administrators and librarians at any time how to strengthen and innovate the organization efficiency and influence of library’s reading promotion events so as for the library to play an important role in promoting the whole society to read. This paper takes Xiamen Municipal Library’s reading promotion event ‘Xiamen Reading Hand-drawn Map’ as an example, and analyzes diversified reading promotion methods and their effects.

    The Toponym Authority Control of Local literature Base on Linked Data

    This paper analyzed the implement method of the toponym authority control of local literature firstly, and considered that the toponym authority control of local literature base on linked data has several advantages such as the independence between concept and form, and the convenience of realizing the automated reasoning and utilizing the external dataset. Then this paper proposed an ontology of local literatures and toponyms which is based on BIBFRAME 2.0 and Geonames ontology. Finally, the paper took the linkdata database of chorography of Fujian province for example talking about the controlling method of the toponym authority control of local literature base on linked data.

    Question & Answer Community: A New Demand for the Library

    This paper discusses the construction of Question & Answer (QA) community in university library based on the information architecture theory, which uses a knowledge-serving platform in network environment to provide online services. Starting with the analysis of the popular QA communities listed at the top 500 sites by Alexa, the functional features of the QA communities are presented, including the construction pattern and the website software. The demands for the online reference services in the library are analyzed. As an example, the QA community website is developed for Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

The paper analyzes the similarities and differences between the two PDA evaluation models, and puts forward suggestions for the Chinese academic libraries.

    A Study on the Meanings of Pian and Juan in “Yiwenzhi” of Hanshu

    With the combination of handed-down literature and excavated documents to revive the situation in which the scholar Liu Xiang and his son were proofreading books, the present paper attempts to approach the meanings of Pian and Juan in “Yiwenzhi” (the “Treatise on Literature”) of the Hanshu (Book of Han). In conclusion, the paper holds that (1) neither Pian and Juan is related to the writing materials of that period; (2) as far as their basic meanings are concerned, Pian refers to the unit for a composition, a composition with complete meaning of the whole text, while Juan refers to the unit for bamboo slips, and one Juan is a bunch of bound bamboo slips; (3) in terms of the quantity, both Pian and Juan mean a bunch of bamboo slips that are well-woven and bound; (4) as for the content reflected, Pian demonstrates the structure of the content of the literature concerned while Juan does not have this function.

    At the end of the Qing Dynasty when there emerged a group of people of insights and ready to see the outside world as well as greeting the western learning, a trend was formed with many Chinese bibliophiles going to Japan to buy books. Among them, Sheng Xuanhuai was not the most successful, but definitely one of the most important.

    An Investigation on the Loss and Existence of Ros’s Collection

    Giuseppe Ros, the Italian diplomat in the Republic of China era was famed for his collection, which was very rich but few people have seen. During the years of turmoil, Ros’s collection went through great hardship, and could not be found anymore, becoming an unsolved case. According to the missing course of the collection, the overview and the storing place of the collection at present can be speculated. Ros’s collection falls into five categories. Books collected at the early age were basically written in foreign languages and are now stored in National Library in Beijing. Some Chinese maps are retained in Dalian Library, whereas the old collection in Guangzhou survived fortunately and are now in Guangzhou and Taiwan. A special section of Hainan historical data is kept by Sun Yat-sen Library in Guangzhou. There are still parts of the collection somewhere overseas.

    A Distinguishment on Versions of Notes on Stele Inscriptions

    Notes on Stele Inscriptions is famous scholar Ye Chang-chi’s representative work of lithograph at the end of the Qing Dynasty. The book received widespread attention in academic circles since it published in 1909.Then more and more derivatives have come. All of these thought themselves according to the original version. It’s uniqueness seems to be a public consensus. Through careful comparison, the original version of Notes on Stele Inscriptions has two versions. It leads us to distinguish between the various copies of later to the task. This article is to solve these problems.

     are mostly scattered between The National Library and Shanghai Library, whereas the rest is to be found in the “National Taiwan Library”. There are many valuable lessons to be drawn from the prefaces and postscripts which appear in this unique ancient books. We can combine bibliography and genealogy, recognize the book-collecting activities of Mini Heaven’s Library.
