    Zhang Li
    Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (8): 39-48.
    摘要 ( 487 )   PDF(CN)(1716KB) ( 564 )
There are few studies exploring the professionalization of library work from the perspective of female librarians. The professional development of American children’s library service is closely related to female librarians. This paper tries to discuss the relationship between women and career development. The rise of women themselves and the development of children’s library are interrelated. Being discriminated as a second gender, female librarians united together and formed a group of their own characteristics. The better understanding of children and of books, which are the two key factors in the development of children’s library services, helps female librarians establish their professional status. The female librarians made a collective voice and reserved their right to choose books through the “the defense of fiction” and the “the defense of the Newbery Children’s Book Award”. Female librarians have played an active role in promoting the professionalization of children’s library in the United States, which is reflected in three aspects: the formation of children’s library service professional knowledge system, the

Female Children’s Librarians in the United States: A Historical Overview
Zhang Jieqi, Li Furong, Zhang Yan
    Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (8): 49-58.
    摘要 ( 423 )   PDF(CN)(2591KB) ( 441 )
Women have made an outstanding contribution to children’s library practice and education, but their status and value have always been undervalued. This overview is based on literature of female children’s librarians in the United States and classifies all the views into two categories: those investigating librarianship with gender as a variable and those investigating women in the workplace with career as a variable. These literature provide a lot of valuable material and viewpoints, but the research paradigm for imitation is not yet mature. A focus on leaders and elites, lack of comparison, and ignoring the social context are the major shortcomings.

Exploration on the Practice of the University Library to Provide Decision Support Services for the Introduction of Talents
    Chen Zhenying, Huang Chen
    Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (8): 59-65.
    摘要 ( 433 )   PDF(CN)(1918KB) ( 893 )
Early identification and post-introduction assessment of overseas returning talents have attracted much attention during the construction of the “Double World-Class” universities. So it is of great significance to quantify and measure the academic competitiveness of returning overseas talents. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used in this paper to construct an academic competitiveness evaluation model based on bibliometric indicators. An empirical and multi-dimensional evaluation aimed at academic competitiveness of 103 returning overseas talents in a university was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the evaluation method and explore its application in the early identification of highly competitive returning overseas talents. The “four-dimensional evaluation method” based on bibliometrics can effectively outline the overall picture of the academic competitiveness of returning overseas talents, which can provide important reference for talent introduction.

    DIGITAL HUMANITIES
The Research on the Name of Siam Bay in Zheng He Nautical Chart from the Perspective of Digital Humanities
    Li Wenhua, Yuan Bing
    Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (8): 88-93.
    摘要 ( 372 )   PDF(CN)(2065KB) ( 482 )
In the newly discovered centennial old Guihai Nian Gengliubu, the Southeast Asia routes, especially Siam Bay route, are highly consistent with Zheng He’s voyages. Because Zheng He’s nautical chart did not leave the provisions of zhenlu in Siam Bay, it is difficult to verify the place names. Some scholars’ textual research reached the conclusions that the important islands and reefs such as Daheng, Xiaoheng, Bijia, Guishan in the Siam Bay are very different from those in the New Version of Zheng He’s Nautical Atlas. After conducting a digital humanistic textual research on the related zhenlu, it was found that there were unreasonable textual research conclusions in both of them. The author puts forward the corrective opinions on important misinterpretation of the relevant documents, and proposes comprehensive digital humanistic research suggestions on the sea road and compass course of all Chinese dynasties represented by Zheng He’s Nautical Chart.

On the Study of Buddhist Scriptures by Monks in Dunhuang Area in the Tang Dynasty: Focusing on BD08263 Notes on Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra
    Dong Daxue
    Libraly Journal. 2021, 40 (8): 123-128.
    摘要 ( 371 )   PDF(CN)(1849KB) ( 610 )
The Dunhuang manuscript BD08263 named Notes on Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra is the second processing by the transcribers with the notes added betwee n the lines of the original Vajra Sutra. The transcribers only annotated some sentences or words instead of the full text of the scriptures of Vajra Sutra. The interpretation is concise and clear with quite a Zen style. Their purpose should not be to lecture, but to a greater extent reflect their learning notes when reading Vajra Sutra. Compared with the relatively institutionalized materials such as monks chanting and testing sutras in Dunhuang documents, this annotation is a relatively more personalized document with a unique value for researching the reading history of Buddhist scriptures in the Tang Dynasty.
