Abstract: The multiplayer role-playing game “Poverty Simulation” based on real places is widely available in American public libraries. Through internet search and literature research, this paper investigates its evolution and application status, deconstructs the game’s operation mode, design, implementation, and feedback path, and summarizes the five enlightenment of the game service for China’s public libraries: giving play to the place value of “Third Space” and promoting the “Poverty Simulation” game; enriching library’s game service and “grafting” game content according to local conditions; encouraging social forces to participate in game services and standardizing the process of game development and implementation; carrying out experiential librarian training activities to internalize the concept of poverty alleviation and externalizing it into practice; innovating the service strategies of public libraries and improving the social service efficiency of libraries.
