With the rapid advancement of
Generative AI GenAI this study investigates the emergingchallenges confronting
the development of national advanced platforms for S&T information andcommunication
in China. The analysis reveals that existing platforms have not sufficiently
addressed thetransformative impact of GenAI on the research paradigms
particularly with regard to strategicorientation functional architecture
service frameworks and ethical governance. The paper aims toconceptualize a new academic ecological support system and advocates for
a repositioning ofplatforms—from information aggregation tools to intelligent hubs for collaborative
knowledge productionthroughout the entire human-AI co-creation research cycle.
Through a structural analysis approach thestudy delineates a four-dimensional
pathway for platform upgrading conceptual reconfigurationfunctional
reconstruction institutional embedding and ecosystem coordination. Based on
thisframework it proposes integrated strategies across three levels—strategic theoretical and
operational. The findings underscore that embedding GenAI-driven research
processes within institutional structures isessential for transforming these
platforms into core national knowledge infrastructures.
