The Service Innovation of Public Library in Taiwan (Part B)

Abstract:

Based on the comprehensive use of expert interviews, observation method and literature investigation to systematically collect service data of public libraries in Taiwan, this paper describes a series of outstanding pcases in terms of buildings & equipment, resources and people, and generalizes the experience of service innovation. There are three sections in part B of this paper. Firstly, service innovation cases based on resources have been described from three aspects, namely, activation of existing resources,building platform to import resource and brand building. Secondly, service innovation associated with people is discussed from two aspects, namely, using intelligent machines to supersede manual labor and arousing the social subject initiative. Finally, four pieces of valuable experience of service innovation are summarized, i.e., applying omnimedia, playing the role of platform, taking the user experience seriously and paying attention to the accumulation of social capital.
