The Librarian Training and Development in University of California-Berkeley Libraries

Abstract:

The librarian training and development in University of California-Berkeley libraries is introduced from four aspects, including new employee orientation, training and educational opportunities, development projects and workshops. Its organization and management are also included. The characteristics in librarian training and development practices such as collaborative organization and management, paying attention to psychological contract, guiding the librarians’ career development, comprehensive skills training are also discussed.
