Abstract: General Compilation of China Index compiled by Lu Zhengyan systematically records Chinese indexes that came out during the twentieth century. The book has the characteristics of a wide range of collection and standardized item classification. It has multi-layer value in practical use, literature and academia, and is convenient for readers to search and use, conductive to information access and to the study of history of indexing. Due to the omissions and deficiencies in the data collection by the compiler at the time, it is necessary to be supplemented and modified in future.
