Abstract: From the perspective of reading therapy, this paper focuses on the novels and essays of Bi Shumin, a well-known contemporary female writer who also holds a physician license and atherapist license. It explores the therapeutic value of her works beyond the literary value. It is believed that the plain language, warm feelings and enterprising thinking in her works, together with her years’ experience of practicing medicine and psychological consultation, generates the healing power over and comfort to the readers. She lives up to her name as “literary psychological healer” and “white angel in literary world”. It is suggested that her works should be included in the list of reading therapy and recommended by public library and school library.
