A Preliminary Study on Digital Scholarship of UniversityLibraries: A Case of Academic Data Services Studio of NewYork University Library

Abstract: Digital scholarship has become one of the development directions of university libraries
at present. Under the circumstance that university libraries in the United States are constructing digital
scholarship centers one after another, the Studio Model for Academic Data Services of New York university
library has provided a new vision for digital scholarship. Digital scholarship is not only a service around
research, but also a bridge between school teaching, learning and research, and a space to support freedom
and independent creation. On the basis of literature research, this paper sorts out the connotation, service
content and service mode of digital scholarship. This paper analyzes and summarizes the development
course and service status of academic data services studio of New York university library by typical case
analysis and website research method. On this basis, this paper discusses the characteristics, significance
and development prospect of “academic data services studios”, and analyzes the advantages of building
digital service studios in university libraries
