Abstract: The preservation, reuse and value added of digital resource have been receiving increasing attention of library circle. Basing on a comprehensive review, this article puts forward a general concept of digital/data curation. Performed by the producer, curator, consumer and other stakeholders, digital/data curation is a digital materials management activity where active intervention be carried out throughout its whole lifecycle aiming to reuse, share and add value to digital materials. This paper suggests “数字/数据 理用” as a possible Chinese translation for “digital/data curation”.
