Abstract: The paper investigates into the personal information privacy policy of the academic libraries in the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. As the result reveals, the academic libraries in the Mainland China lack the privacy policy and do not know how to protect the users’ privacy while Hong Kong and Taiwan do better. It then continues to explore the reasons for the low level of attention to users' personal information protection in the academic libraries in the mainland.
