Information Service Platform for Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship: New Information Service Practice in the NSLC

Abstract:

How can professional libraries explore innovative services in their attempts at transformation?National Science Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences (NSLC) provides a possible answer with an open information service platform for science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship. It develops
five types of activities within 2 years and offers knowledge services such as data analysis and technical trend analysis. It attracts a large number of entrepreneurial projects, investors, researchers and the media,and succeeds in building a knowledge service model that adds to library’s value. Limited by the service mechanism and team, however, practices are still on the initial stage, with services to be expanded.
