Abstract:

The Catalogue of Local Literature in Houlaiyulou is a bibliography of private collection which is compiled by Zhou Delie. Zhou is a famous bibliophile in Jinshan, Shanghai. This bibliography categorizes 573 titles by nearly 400 authors from seven counties in the Songjiang area and generally reflects Zhou’s lifelong achievement in collating local literature. The bibliography is Zhou’s representative catalogue work. It follows the classification system of Siku Quanshu Zongmu and absorbs the classification innovations of Shu Mu Da Wen. In addition, it is an important private catalogue for studying the works of different dynasties in Shanghai because of a wide variety of collections and paying particular attention to the relationship between the authors and the publishers. The article sorted out the compilation of this bibliography based on Zhou’s life, and discussed its scope, classification and the features of its editing.
