Design Concepts and Considerations for Children’s Library Buildings: Taking the New Children’s Library in Guiyang as an Example

As a public cultural venue, children’s library aims to provide a high-quality reading and service experience for children, parents and social workers, and to create a comfortable reading space and service place. This article introduces the architectural design concept of the new building of the Guiyang Children’s Library, details its architectural design style characteristics, and, based on the design features of high-quality children’s libraries at home and abroad, proposes that highlighting children’s nature is the design core, complying with children’s characteristics is the design purpose, guiding children to inherit and promote local culture is the design direction, and promoting children’s reading is the design mission, in order to provide reference for the construction of children’s libraries across the country.
