Study on the Development of Grassroots Public ReadingSpaces: Based on the Analysis of “Qiu Bai Reading Yard inChangzhou

Abstract:

Riding the wave of national reading, grassroots public reading space is becoming animportant grip on the cultural life of citizens and shaping the image of the city. The “Qiu Bai ReadingYard” is an innovative initiative of Changzhou to improve the effectiveness of public cultural services.Through literature, network and field research, this study selects typical venues with differentcharacteristics of “Qiu Bai Reading Yard” for case analysis, summarizes the general characteristics ofgrassroots public reading spaces, and draws corresponding inspiration from the development practice.Through the analysis of “Qiu Bai Reading Yard”, this study aims to provide reference and considerationfor the construction of public cultural spaces around the country, and promote the construction of a booklovingsociety.
