From Collection to Connection And Collaboration AgainstChallenges: Review of the 88th IFLA Art Library SectionSatellite Meeting

Abstract:

On August 17—19, 2023, a satellite conference organized by the IFLA Art Libraries Sectionand the Rijksmuseum Library was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. More than 90 participants fromover 60 related institutions in Europe and the United States discussed about the development of art historyliterature resources, digitization projects, the opportunities and challenges facing art literature and visualinformation in the field of digital collection, cultural heritage protection, and academic research, as wellas their future development. The conference centered around 4 topics: collections as data, data and ethicalperspectives, ongoing projects and local perspectives. This article introduces the content of the seminar,professional views and the future trends in Europe and America, in order to provide some clues for thedevelopment of art libraries in China.
