Construction of a Model for Public Library Safety and Security Information Service

Abstract: In this information age, high-quality safety and security information service is the key to improving public safety and security literacy and building a safer and more secure China. As a high-quality platform, public library can provide safety and security information service that constitutes a beneficial measure to respond to the national safety and security strategy, to adapt to the public safety and security information needs, and to actively take on social duty. Therefore, it is of great significance to carry out a study on public library safety and security information service. Firstly, from a perspective of safety and security informatics, the basic meaning of public library safety and security information service is explained. Secondly, the basic principles of security information service in public libraries are expounded. Finally, a model for public library safety and security information service is constructed and analyzed. The research shows that public library’s safety and security information service is oriented to the needs of users, and it mainly includes safety and security situation information resource service and librarian service. Moreover, its service path is consistent with the safety and security information behavior process of users, in order to ensure the high-speed flow and effective dissemination of safety and security information.
