Abstract: The inter-library loan records of printed literature of university libraries in Beijing from 2008 to 2021 are collected through the Balis inter-library loan system. The data consists of reader information, book information, borrowing library information, lending library information, borrowing information, etc. The reader information is desensitized to protect user privacy. There are 229, 961 records in this dataset, which can be used to analyze the sharing and utilization of printed literature of the University Library Alliance in recent years, and the evolution of users’ reading behavior. It can provide support for collection development, borrowing service improvement and other policies. In addition, the dataset can be employed to carry out intelligent resource recommendations, library reading promotion and other services for individual or group readers. The dataset is of significant value not only in scientific research but also in practical applications.
