Abstract:

The manuscripts of The Chronology of Pan Yue and The Chronology of Lu Ji in theNational Library are the earliest known Pan Lu chronologies in the Republic of China. It is designated asanonymous by the summary of The Collection of Manuscripts of Chronologies in the National Librarybecause of the lack of the author’s name, the time of compilation and bibliographic description. Afterresearch, we found that the two chronologies were first compiled in the 14th-15th year of the Republic ofChina when He Rong was studying at Beijing Normal University. After slight modifications, they werepublished in Zhiyong Series, and copied by Zhu Xizu into the chronology of the same name. He Rong’smanuscripts of great academic value were compiled by reference to various histories and Pan & Lu’santhology.
