Activating Public Reading Space in Empowered RuralRevitalization: Available, Promising and Bookish

Abstract:

Rural public reading space is an important part of public cultural service system, and aneffective carrier for rural culture revitalization. The study on the activation of rural public reading spacehelps to promote the high-quality development of rural public cultural services, and further empowers thecomprehensive revitalization of rural culture. Through the investigation and analysis of the main forms ofthe current rural public reading space, this article summarizes the factors activating public reading spacesuch as people-orientation, supply and demand balance, diversified services, and empowered villages.To activate rural public reading space, it is necessary for the government and society to be “available”,undertake “promising” activities such as diversified service, optimize supply content, inherit localculture, create “bookish” reading environment through marketing propaganda and improve the readingtaste of rural residents, so as to give full play to the function of rural reading space and to empower ruralrevitalization.
