Abstract: Pest prevention is a challenge and priority in the preservation of paper documents and archives. The anti-pest paper dipped in pyrethroids can be used by methods of contact toxicity and repellency against common pests. This article improves the formulation of pyrethroids on the basis of relevant application research, further enhancing pest-proofing while ensuring the safety to human beings. Based on nearly three years of practice in the use of anti-pest paper in the general stack of ancient books in Shanghai Library, this article initially verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the anti-pest paper for pest control of ancient books, and provides a solution to preventing pests for libraries, archives and other institutions.
