Abstract: Family Letters from Qian Yan Tang, was published by Xuehai Monthly in 1944, contained a set of twelve letters collected by Qu Zhongrong, which has quite a lot of mutual evidence with Chen Yuan’s “An Explanation of the Fifteen Handwritten Letters of Qian Zhuting”. The chronological interpretation of the journals in the Xuehai Monthly reveals that these twelve letters were all written in Qian Daxin's old age when he was lecturing at the Ziyang Academy in Suzhou, and the events written in the journals are useful in clarifying the historical facts of Qian Daxin’s later years with Wang Chang, Ji Yun and others. The letters are written in a simple style and provide a glimpse into Qian’s daily life.
