Abstract: The paper is the first one to apply the concept of “citation identity” to the evaluation of interdisciplinary researches, and to explore more application potentials of “citation identity”, especially in discipline evaluation. Based on the informetric researches published in SSCI journals, this study adopts the citation analysis to understand the characteristics of current interdisciplinary research in LIS, and analyzes the recognition status of interdisciplinary research on LIS by external disciplines from multiple perspectives. It concludes that the current interdisciplinary researches cannot meet the needs of external disciplines;that the external disciplines have increased requirements on the timeliness of interdisciplinary research on informetrics; that the breadth of interdisciplinary research in informetrics needs to be broadened; that the external disciplines gradually favor interdisciplinary researches of informetric based on academic search engine, social network and visual presentation; and that the way of scientific research cooperation and the evaluation method of scientific research fund still needs to be optimized.
