Abstract: A Study of the Works of Women in the Past Dynasties compiled by Mr. Hu Wenkai is a general list of Chinese female writers’ works, and it is an important and required reference book for domestic and foreign scholars to study Chinese female literature. It has an enormous academic value, and even more valuable after Mr. Zhang Hongsheng and other scholars revised and enlarge it. However, there are some errors in this book, such as the writers’ names confused, incorrect style names and pseudonyms and repeat collection.
