Abstract: This paper makes an empirical study on the types and influencing factors of university students’ reading behaviors through questionnaire. Through K-Means clustering analysis of the answers to the questionnaire, it is proposed that the reading behaviors of university students can be divided into three types: emotional/entertainment type, rational/profession type and aimless type. It is verified by multinomial logistic regression analysis how conscious a student is of information affects his/her reading behavior types. The more conscious a student is of information, the more they tend to read rationally for profession or emotionally for entertainment rather than read aimlessly. Information literacy education, family factors and extroversion factors have positive and significant influence on the information consciousness of students and indirectly affect students’ reading behaviors. It provides basis and reference for universities to carry out information literacy education.
