Abstract: In recent years, the development and application of information technology has entered a new
era. “Digital Transformation” has been given a new connotation. Many industries expect to establish a new
business model and value system through digital transformation. In the field of university library, great
achievements have been made in the construction of “Digital Library” and “Smart Library”, but there are few
studies on the digital transformation in the new era, and the understanding of its connotation and importance
is insufficient. Under the background of the construction of new liberal arts and the beginning of the 14th
five-year plan, university libraries should change the old cognitive concept of “digital transformation” in
time, clarify the connotation and requirements of the digital transformation of university libraries in the new
era, make use of the opportunity of the unified development of new liberal arts construction and university
informatization, take data governance as the goal and starting point, establish a digital academic service
team, establish the core position of digital business, and realize digital transformation.
