Abstract: The experiential learning education of information literacy can promote the overall transformation and upgrading of the basic service of university library. The educational philosophy and approach were successfully launched by the Library of the City University of Hong Kong through the Lighthouse Heritage Research Connections (LHRC) project. In order to understand and learn more deeply about the concept and practical experience, Professor Steve CHING, Special Advisor to Run Run Shaw library of City University of Hong Kong, was interviewed. The interview discussed and summarized the metaliteracy of information literacy education, the concept of practical education, the case of LHRC project in Hong Kong City University Library, and the reform of basic service of university library, so we can actively seek the change and innovation of basic service of university library in knowledge creation, knowledge management and knowledge dissemination.
