Abstract: Gakushuin University (Japan) owns a considerable scale of books block-printed in the Ming
Dynasty, with its number over 80. Because the bibliography of Chinese rare books has not been published,
we know little about it. Based on the investigation in Gakushuin, This paper describes the origin of Chinese
block-printed books in Gakushuin University, the quantity and sort of books block-printed in the Ming
Dynasty, and several rare editions in this collection.
