Abstract: At present, there are still some problems in reading promotion for college students, such as
inadequate precision of the supporting theory, inaccurate orientation of the reading promotion target, and
lack of cultural connotation. The concept of college-specific reading emphasizes that colleges shall make
differentiated reading promotion activities according to the scope of disciplines, the level of management,
colleges’ mottos, their history, and the cities where the colleges are located. It considers macroscopically
the need of reader groups in different types of colleges, and combines the ideas of “One College One Book”
and “One City One Book” to further improve the fineness and accuracy of reading promotion to college
students.
