  • Online:2019-02-15 Published:2019-02-22

Abstract: To improve the quality of the collection, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) adopted a new inclusion criterion in 2014. The paper identifies Chinese journals included and removed by DOAJ from 2003 to 2017, and makes a status analysis regarding the publishers, organizers, subject distribution, and DOAJ seal of the included journals, as well as other databases that include them. It also studies the reasons of those excluded journals, whether they were included in other databases, and the predatory journal list. It concludes with countermeasures for libraries.
