Abstract: In the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially in the 40 years
after the reform and opening up, the library development in China has released great energies. From the
initial extensive development to the current high-quality development, the library has kept pace with the
social development. Today, all walks of life are facing transformation. For libraries, transformation is both a
challenge and an opportunity, and it enables every library to be on the same starting line. This paper proposes
to synchronize with the requirements of the time and promote digital transformation; synchronize with users’
expectations and improve quality services; synchronize with global development and expand international
perspectives. We must firmly grasp the new opportunities and sail to the great ocean of development with the
trend, take advantages of the momentum, and promote the development of libraries to a new height.
