Abstract: Developing the measurements of data is one of the major topics in information analysis and informetrics. In this paper, we introduce a potential analytical method called “Multidimensional h-distribution”. “Multidimensional” means that the result contains a series of related variables instead of one figure, whereas “Generalized” indicates that its application object is no longer limited to citation, which is used in h-index. The two sets of empirical data in journals and research topics show that multidimensional h-distribution has the characteristics of avoiding a single measure, inspecting multidimensions, not limited to citations but being suitable for more entity data, giving comprehensive assessment, etc. Therefore, it may be able to provide an additional approach for comparative analysis of multidimensional data.
