Abstract: The encyclopedia, as a special writing style, has had an important influence on history. The Ming dynasty is an important period of encyclopedia compilation, how much total compilation of encyclopedia, how encyclopedia’ preserving and missing, it is necessary to carefully hackle. Take Chinese Ancient Books Catalogue that description of the most of encyclopedia of the Ming dynasty for example, there are encyclopedia for 439. But according to the survey shows, in fact, the Ming dynasty has compiled encyclopedia for 665, 46 of them have been lost, another 180 are still exists but the Chinese Ancient Books Catalogue not description.
