A Study on the Script of Yuyu Youji Written by Nobusama Inoue Collected in the National Diet Library of Japan

Abstract:

Nobusama Inoue was a famous China hand in Meiji period, played a central role between China and Japan. However, his activities in China haven’t been recognized enough in Chinese academic world. The Yuyu Youji collected by the National diet library of Japan is the script of travel notes in China
written by Nobusama Inoue, which is one of the most important travel notes written in Chinese by Japanese in the late Qing Dynasty. According to Yuyu Youji the travel experiences in China of Nobusama Inoue could be cognize deeply, also his outlook on China might be assessed at a glance. More importantly, Yuyu Youji recorded geography, landscape, traditional customs economy, products and cultural relics where Nobusama Inoue passed through, All of these above reflect essential research value.
