The Innovative Research on Book Weeding in University Library: Taking the Library of Liaoning University of Business and Economics as Example

Abstract:

Book weeding is an unavoidable and very important issue for library development. This paper first outlines procedures and principles of book weeding, and then focuses on the ordinary books weeding in theory and practices. To that end, it establishes book weeding index system, calculates the weight of each
index, establishes the calculation formula of book weeding index, and calculates the book weeding index by EXCEL. Weeding index has great reference value for book weeding and other library work. Finally, the paper briefly introduces the issue of reuse of the weeded books.
