Abstract: With the interdisciplinary approach, this paper analyzes the interdisciplinary characteristics of the library and information science(LIS) using the papers included in the CSSCI database and published from 2011 to 2015. The results show that the discipline of LIS in China is highly extensive, and it is crosscited by the other twenty-two disciplines. LIS, however, is still its own biggest reference source. The reference usually involves two disciplines, and interdisciplinarity increases year by year. But the journals of domestic library and information science exhibit small difference in terms of interdisciplinary performance, and the change in the annual average diversity remains random without a rule to trace.
