Research on the Editions of Xiuning Xianzhi

Abstract

Abstract:

Local gazetteers are considerably unique cultural heritage in China, and its extant editions are also relatively complicated. This paper analyzes the two editions in 1815 and 1823, focusing on the Xiuning Xianzhi in the Jiaqing period (1796-1820)of the Qing Dynasty. The edition in 1823 was modified basing on
the edition in 1815. In this case, the knowledge about the study of ancient book edition is very significant for the identification and registration of local gazetteers.
