Rural Library Services in England: Exploring Recent Changes and Possible Futures: Executive Summary and Introduction

Abstract

Abstract:

This paper is the survey report issued by Defra and Arts Council England. Through the investigation of libraries in 8 pilot areas, like Buckinghamshire, the report analyzed the nature of library service changes in Britain rural areas, and explored challenges and opportunities of those changes. It finally discusses how to construct the comprehensive, effective and sustainable library service, which will satisfy to local demands in the rural areas.
