Abstract: With a history of over 100 years , Central China Normal University (CCNU) is strong in liberal arts, but a little weak in science, and short of technology and engineering. Keeping the traditional advantage in liberal arts, optimizing existing science subjects, and developing technology and engineering, CCNU plans to build itself into a comprehensive research university featuring education for teachers. The library resource thus won’t be suitable for the future. According to the different characteristics and levels of disciplines, therefore, reallocating library resource will be conducive to discipline development.
